The Empathy Conference was open to the 100 secondary school teachers and youth workers, from across the country, who had completed training upto that point. The educators presented updates from the field and shared their Story Exchange practices.

Boy’s Stories Intergenerational Story Exchange

Participants discussed gender stereotypes, learned about storytelling and explored boundaries. By choosing stories from their own lives about being a boy or man, and sharing it with the intergenerational group, they gained an empathetic insight, and a greater understanding of masculinity from the group.

Facilitator Bursary

Throughout the year Narrative 4 Ireland offers a number of bursaries; providing recipients with free training. These bursaries are given priority to individuals/ organisations where budget is a barrier to training. Apply using the Facilitator application for, but please indicate in application if you intend to apply for a bursary.

Narrative 4 Ireland’s The Empathy Project is supported by Rethink Ireland. The cost of the training is €450 but is generously subsidised by Rethink Ireland to the value of €300. Meaning you pay €150.

About the Training

The Narrative 4 Facilitator training will give you the skills to effectively deliver a Story Exchange programme in your school/ youth group. You will be given access to an online toolkit and become a member of a growing community of practitioners. The CPD (Certified Professional Development) online training consists of 3 online modules and mentorship.
